Someone Else EP

Excited to share my band's new record "Someone Else," a two-track EP that spins like it came straight off a 1962 jukebox. We hope you have as much fun listening as we did producing this!

On the A-Side we have the lead single “Someone Else.” Catchy hooks, retro guitars, and a story we all know too well — your ex wants you back, but you’re already over it. Or are you?

On the B-Side we have  “Do You Even Care." A song about pining for your lost love and wondering if they still think about you as much as you think about them.

With a heartbeat driven by Motown influences, both of these songs started as an idea from our drummer Josh Wilson. The fusion of old school rhythms with contemporary edge gives it a sense of nostalgia, capturing the bittersweet emotions of heartbreak, hindsight, and holding your ground.

Special call out to Claire Ligon for providing some wonderful backup vocals on the lead track.

Lyrics:

Track 1: “Someone Else"

You call me up, you want to drink tonight
Feels like you've got some things to tell me
I guess you had enough of that someone else
Turns out that you're just not as happy

You wanted someone else
You needed wedding bells
Baby that's just not me
You said you wanted something else
You needed fine hotels
Baby that's just not me
(I don't know what else to say)

I'll see you out with the same old crowd
All of the friends that you could want
(All of the friends, all of the friends)
I bet you call me up a few years from now
Telling me how you couldn't stop
(I just couldn't stop baby)

Because you wanted someone else
You needed wedding bells
Baby that's just not me
You said you wanted something else
You needed fine hotels
Baby that's just not me
(Why don't you tell me about it)

You wanted someone else
You needed wedding bells
You wanted something else
You needed fine hotels

Track 2: "Do You Even Care"

You came to me with open arms
And a smile so bright it could keep me warm
But you turned your back on loving me
You said it's best to set me free
As I wander through the good times we shared
I wonder how you could leave me there

Did you even care
(Did you even care)
Did you care at all
(Did you even care)
Give me a chance
(Did you even care)
Did you care at all
(Did you even care)
Don't keep me in chains, no no

Saw eye to eye, stood hand in hand
Two daydreamers without any plans
But you grew up, gone baby gone
Please define where it all went wrong
You said we're drowning and we can't pretend
I'm just stringing myself along in the end
It's hard to move on after all we shared
Do you still think about me out there

Do you even care
(Do you even care)
Do you care at all
(Do you even care)
Mm Give me a chance
(Do you even care)
Do you care at all
(Do you even care)

And I gotta tell you honey that you did it all wrong
Spending all your money at a fancy salon
Your photo really looks good but you didn't treat me right
(You didn't treat me right)
You didn't treat me right
(You didn't treat me right)
Do you even care

And I gotta tell you honey that I'm doing it wrong
Staring at the ceiling humming your favorite songs
I'm working on my issues but you're already out of sight
(You didn't treat me right)
You're already out of sight
(You didn't treat me right)
Do you even care
(Do you even care)
Do you care at all
(Do you even care)
Mm Give me a chance
(Do you even care)
Do you care at all
(Do you even care)
Don't keep me in chains, no no, oh-oh-oh-oh, oh no no
Do you even care
